In a world where connection is key, our staff created an Instagram account in the summer of 2020, so we could share information quickly with our student body as our school was about to endure a year of hybrid learning. Running this account since its creation by writing the captions and designing all of the ads myself (with the exception of mentoring the designers of our "Photo Friday" post), I have learned how to create posts that are true to our yearbook design aesthetic while still connecting with our target market, our students. It is through these social media ads that I realized that I thoroughly enjoy advertising and creating a brand identity that is eye-catching. Our posts have been reposted on Walsworth's Instagram account countless times, propelling our yearbook to a national scale as close to 2,000 accounts in the journalism world follow Walsworth's account.
