Editing, Leadership,
& Team Building
A true team player, I do whatever it takes to make our yearbook the best it can possibly be. By mentoring the staffers and junior editors in yearbook class, I am truly committed to continuing the award-winning legacy of the ELCO Sigma going for years to come. Not missing a deadline day in my three years on the editorial staff, I built my schedule around yearbook in order to pursue my passion. My leadership abilities go beyond the Yearbook Room walls as I serve as Class of 2022 President, where we have fundraised $6,000 in my four years as President for our senior prom. Chosen as Head Assistant at Generation Dance and the George Eastman Young Leader Award Winner my junior year by the teachers and administration, leadership is in my D.N.A. Watch testimonials from my fellow staffers of my impact on their yearbook careers and see my editing abilities in action through pages I've transformed.
Leaving a Legacy

The before and after of yearbook pages I edited
With this year being my third on the editorial staff, I have gotten editing yearbook pages down to a science. I can fully edit the text, reorganize the layout, and make a staff page look print-ready in an hour from start to finish. The pages you are about to see had major issues with design and writing until I fixed them. One of the pages did not even have quotes on it until I interviewed the students once I began editing. Editing pages has really taught me that I can get a lot accomplished in a short time frame through thoughtful and strategic execution.

My work as Generation Dance Head Assistant
Dancing at Generation Dance, LLC since I was seven years old, the studio has always been a home away from home for me. Participating in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and hip hop classes in addition to assisting a teacher once a week with a tap class of middle schoolers, dance has served as an after school activity where I can express myself creatively, like I can with yearbook. The studio owner approached me and asked if I would take on this new position with this being the first year of the position. My role is to act as a messenger between the studio owner and the rest of the assistants to provide effective communication between both parties. Additionally, I created 22 Assistant Spotlights for Generation Dance's social media accounts. I designed each layout from scratch and interviewed all of the assistants myself. Also, I organize team building activities for the assistants, including a mini golf tournament and a corn maze trip, so all of us can get to know each other better.
